Fun hot in summer. My absolute favorite Sly and the Family Stone song. It is too large, they do not lip sync.

I do not see why people are comparing the sly and the family stone black eyes peas. not even the same kind of music, not even at the same time. Why, because he is black guys and women? Comparing the two is like comparing 50 cent to Elvis. Get Real.

Black Eyed WHAT ???????— there would be no Black Eyed Peas ,,,,,,,, oh man — just give her due Sly – - there are so many people ignorant of young people there who have no idea what talent is — I saw the Black Eyed Peas prices on some stupid show – grammys or something in 30 days – they were a joke — I give Sly tones of his gourd every day – more talent in one pinky than any stoned peas

WOW, there’s just no denying. . . . Sly & The Family Stone could flat-out funk kick! Great video clip. I love that rear line of Fender amps.

Sly & the Family Stone were so creative ahead of their time, they would be an absolute force on the music scene today. . . . . . With the same music! Sly was such a brilliantly innovative composer, with (unfortunately), all the eccentricities that sometimes accompany an art to be “genius”. The man was “out there”, to say the least. . . . . . but damn! What an entertainer! With a band Kick-Ass trendsetters who were definitely unique. There was nobody like them. . . . . and there is still no!

The group has been wonderful and tight, but the drummer was a bit lost. . .

WTF

The Funkmaster himself, Sly Stone. There has never been anything like him, and the group was tight. They were the first group to bond to a universal audience. Even Motown changed the style of music Temptations in the 60s and early 70s because they were influenced by Sly & the Family Stone. And that says it all!

I was upstairs and when Sly was the hottest thing on. Larry Graham was still with the group. No one played the bass like Larry Graham. Lova 55 years old school

just made my day:)

@ Alexltavares I never read the book, but I want to know if it’s an urban legend about Sly purposly missing gigs and sitting in his limo watching the rioting fans. I heard this when I was a kid and it stuck with me. True or false?

Wow – a band inviting the public to come and grove with them while they play – great!

Sly & the Family Stone is the only band that I knew who could sing a different version of their hit songs and still make it even more funky!
